Eicher Motors Ltd is an Indian automotive company founded in 1948 and went public in 2003. It has been part of the Nifty 50 index since 2017 and the Nifty Auto index since 2008.
The company majorly has four business segments:
1: Motorcycles
2: Commercial vehicles
3: Engineering components
4: Design.
It is famous for its Royal Enfield brand, the oldest motorcycle brand in continuous production since 1901. It also has a joint venture with Volvo Group called VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), which produces and sells commercial vehicles and engineering components. Eicher Motors Ltd has also won many awards and recognitions for its performance, quality, innovation, and sustainability.
One of the major news events that affected Eicher Motors Ltd’s share price was the demonetisation announced by the Indian government on 8th November 2016.
