Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd: a leading Indian pharma company.
Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd started in 1984 and went public on the NSE in 2003. It belongs to various indexes like NIFTY 50, NIFTY Pharma, NIFTY 100 and NIFTY 500.
The company has three segments: Global Generics, PSAI, and Proprietary Products. It offers a range of products for different therapeutic areas such as cardiovascular, dermatology, gastroenterology, oncology, pain management and pediatrics. The company operates in over 40 countries and has won many awards for its quality, innovation and corporate governance.
One of the key events that impacted the company’s share price was buying Betapharm Group, a German generic drug maker, in February 2006 for €480 million.
