August 1907: Tata Iron and Steel Company Ltd. was incorporated.
November 1994: It was listed on the National Stock Exchange.
August 2005: The company’s name was changed to Tata Steel Ltd.

In 1939, it became the biggest steel plant in the British Empire. As a resource, steel is of national importance, so there were 2 failed attempts to nationalise Tata Steel Ltd. by the Government of India. Over the period, it has spread its presence to 100+ countries over six continents through various acquisitions and joint ventures.

The company operates in various industries and categories, such as steel, iron, mining, engineering, construction, automotive, aerospace, defence, energy, and consumer goods.
