Short Info About MRF
MRF: The Muscle Behind India’s Tyre Industry
It is said that living organisms continue to evolve, but there are a few human inventions that are continuously evolving due to the research and development done by humankind. Around 3500 BC, the first tyre was made, and after thousands of years, we have reached the tyre of today’s world. With over 60 years of experience, MRF is one of India’s top tyre makers.
December 1960
MRF Ltd. was incorporated.
April 1961
It got listed on the Indian stock market.
It started as a small toy balloon manufacturing unit in a shed in 1946. It kept on expanding its rubber products portfolio. Within a decade, due to its quality products, many overseas companies stepped back from manufacturing similar products. It also became the first Indian company to export tyres to the USA. MRF stands for Madras Rubber Factory.
It manufactures tyres, sports goods, paints and coats, retreads, etc. It has also shifted some of its business towards providing services, such as T&S, Tiretok, Tyredome, etc. Various indices have it as its constituent, such as the Nifty 200, Nifty Auto, etc. It exports its quality products to over 74+ countries.
The growth in the product portfolio of MRF Ltd. is also visible in the value creation done for its investors through its historical share price.
