LIC: The Insurance Giant that Never Stops Growing

The life insurance business is just around 2 centuries old in India. Several individual companies managed the life insurance business for more than 140 years. 2022: It got listed on the Indian stock market.

Over 243+ insurance companies and provident societies were merged to form LIC, which became the sole life insurance provider in the country. LIC operates in various industries and categories, such as life insurance, health insurance, pension plans, etc. Various indices have LIC as their constituent, such as Nifty 50, Nifty PSE, etc.

  • Compounding FDs: Similar to FDs but with one difference: the interest is reinvested into the principal amount instead of being paid out.
