Muthoot Finance: Unlocking the Value of Your Gold

When we look at the history of many prominent business houses in India, we can trace it to the end of the 19th century. At such a time, there is a business family in India that has a legacy of over 800 years by the name of Muthoot Group. Muthoot Finance Ltd. is a financial corporation and the largest gold loan NBFC in the country.

March 1997: Muthoot Finance Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated.

November 2008: The company’s name was changed to Muthoot Finance Ltd.

May 2011: It got listed on the Indian stock market.

It provides financial services such as gold loans, housing finance, personal loan, gold coin, money transfer, etc. It has a holding of 146 tonnes of gold, which makes it the company with the highest gold reserves in India. Various indices have it as its constituent, such as Nifty 100, Nifty Financial Services, etc.

It is one of the few companies that had a positive impact of demonetisation done by the Government of India in 2016. People rushed to buy gold products with currency notes that were demonetised. In the third quarter of 2016-17, it reported a surge in profit of over 50%.
