Short Info About Yes Bank
Yes Bank Ltd was incorporated in 2003 and made a remarkable debut on the Indian stock market in 2005. It was soon listed in major indices such as Nifty 50, Nifty Bank, Nifty Private Bank, etc.
Yes Bank primarily operates in corporate banking, MSME and retail banking. It offers its corporate and retail customers various products and services via its retail banking and asset management services.
Yes faced many challenges and crises. One of the crises it faced was in 2018 when Dewan Housing Finance, Essel group, CG Power, the Anil Ambani group companies, and Videocon failed to repay their loans. This led to a 30% fall in the share price in a single day (21 September 2018).
From April 2019, Yes Bank continuously failed to gain the trust of the shareholders, and it continued falling. On 2 April 2019, it closed at ₹280.30 and dropped to ₹29.30 by 4 March 2020. This led the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to impose a moratorium on the Bank and supersede its board due to its deteriorating financial position and governance issues on 05 March 2020.
