Its business of meeting the needs of the industry in improving quality, efficiency, speed, and flexibility is aligned with energy, innovative infrastructure, digital industries, and mobility. Various indices have it as its constituent, such as the Nifty 100, Nifty MNC, etc.

It is a subsidiary of the German MNC Siemens AG. It operates in various industries/categories, such as power generation, transmission and distribution, transportation systems, industrial automation, building technologies, medical systems, fire safety and security, information and communication networks, etc.
