Short Info About RBL Bank

RBL Bank: A Story of Evolution, Challenges, and Achievements

There are very few banks that start as regional banks to provide support to a specific area/community and later on expand to the national level. RBL Bank Ltd. started by serving a small area in Maharastra and later became a bank with branches nationwide.

June 1943: Ratnakar Bank Limited was incorporated.
August 2014: The company’s name was changed to RBL Bank Ltd.
September 2016: It was listed on the Indian stock market.

Most of the time, the credit for the growth of the economy goes to big companies, whereas 40% of exports and 45% of industrial production comes from Indian small and medium enterprises. It has been a backbone of India. Observing the opportunity, Ratnakar Bank Limited was started to serve SMEs and business merchants in the Kolhapur Sangli belt. As most of its business was focused near National Highway 4, it was also known as NH4 amongst the banking circle.

RBL Bank deals in personal banking, NRI Banking, Business banking, wholesale banking, etc. It is part of various indices, such as the Nifty 500, S&P BSE 500, etc. It has also won several awards for its performance, innovation, and social responsibility.
