IDBI Bank: From a Government-Owned Entity to a LIC-Controlled Institution

July 1964: IDBI was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of RBI.
September 1994: IDBI Bank was incorporated as a commercial Bank.
July 1995: It was listed on the Indian stock market.
January 2019: It became a subsidiary of LIC.
Industrial Development Bank of India was incorporated as a fully owned subsidiary of RBI under the Government of India. Later, Life Insurance Corporation became its majority shareholder. It is part of several indices, such as Nifty 500, S&P BSE Midcap, etc. The company operates in various categories of banking, such as Personal, corporate, treasury, preferred banking, etc. The company has received several awards for its performance and innovation in the banking sector.
