ACC Ltd.: From a merger of 11 companies to a subsidiary of the Adani Group
Cement is one of the primary materials needed for the development of any country. Many times the companies involved in cement manufacturing compete with each other. More than 8 decades ago, 11 cement manufacturing companies came together and created a single entity which later came to be known as ACC Ltd.
August 1936: The Associated Cement Companies Ltd. was incorporated.
November 1996: It got listed on the National Stock Exchange.
September 2006: The name of the company was changed to ACC Ltd.
It manufactures cement, ready-mixed concrete, tile adhesives, ready-to-use plaster, cementitious grout, etc. It is a company whose growth is totally dependent on the domestic supply. Various indices have it as its constituent, such as the Nifty Commodities, Nifty Infrastructure, etc.
